Guitar manufacturing course

The only course for guitar manufacturing in Japan

Students can learn from the basic woodwork technique. Professor Nogami who developed Niibori Method Original guitars with Dr. Niibori, directly hands down his technique to students. Through the curriculum, students can acquire the technique to manufacture traditional guitar and various type of original guitars. Graduates can obtain a diploma of 'specialist of guitar craftsman'.

Secret of Ohshima-mura and a school building
with a red corn-shaped clock tower...

'Village of Music', Ohshima-mura

Now, Joetsu campus is loved so much by the villagers and students. But in 1979, it was closed because of depopulation and was about to be destroyed. Then Mayer Uchiyama appeared on TV and asked to help the school building with a lovely red corn-shaped clock tower. Dr. Niibori watched TV and made contact with him. Dr. Niibori had a dream of having a music school nestled in the bosom of Mother Nature. Mayer Uchiyama immediately came to Tokyo and entrusted Dr. Niibori with the school building. To fulfill the promise, Dr. Niibori visited Ohshima-mura with a few staff, and established the fine music academy. Villagers were very glad to see the lights in the school building. In 1991, Ohshima-mura was approved as 'Village of Music' by Japanese government. In 1994, great music hall 'Fureai-kan' was opened, and musical activities are becoming more active year by year. Now, there is an orchestra consists of over 100 people. Joetsu campus is a music academy located in the center of the village of music. Also, this village is a stage of a symphonic poem 'The God of SAI' composed by Dr. Hiroki Niibori. In the music, he described beautiful scenery and tradition of the village with his love.
