The sopranino guitar is tuned 1 octave higher than the alto guitar. The sound is sharp and brilliant, and adds the sound of grace notes to the ensemble. It has the highest voice in a guitar orchestra. Its pretty sound is attractive enough to be used for solo work. Performances using the sopranino guitar are very popular in 'Guitaristus Nippon' recital held annually in Japan.
