The 102nd Recital of Niibori Guitar Music School

The big recital, reached the 102nd, of Niibori Guitar Music School is introduced extensively on and after page 8 in this issue.
Niibori guitar Music School, established and opened by Dr. Hiroki Niibori in 1957, is a music school for hobby and acquiring culture to learn and enjoy music in all aspect putting guitar, having long history, at the center. Branded schools and friendship schools are located all over in Japan, but this recital is performed by schools directly managed by headquarters, and students appearing on stage for solo or ensemble were selected by recitals of each district. They were selected from thousands of students and very honorable for them.
Here, the greeting message for this recital given by Dr. Hiroki Niibori (President of Niibori Guitar Music School, now) is introduced below.

Reputation for good points of Japan and Japanese are getting higher in the world, now. Big scaled questionnaire research by BBC broadcasting station, the key station in Europe, before the earthquake hazards showed Japan was No. 1 for “your favorite country”. Good and favorite points of Japan were courtesy, sincerity, unity, cooperation, peace, nonviolence, equality, saving, cleanliness, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, beautiful climate, abundant drinking water, refreshing mother tongue, traditional arts top in the world, industrial power in full of originality, No. 1 in population ratio for invention-discovery-number of approved patents, educational system covering all districts, world’s top leveled reading ability, No. 1 in length of non-war period, 2671 Imperial Years (history as Japan), top level in health and long life, and so on.
And, quality and number of “Guitar Orchestra” of Japan is also No. 1, now.
It is not a simple matter to be able to practice high leveled guitar orchestra.
Furthermore, it is impossible without having top leveled nature in all aspects to lead audience in Vienna, very knowledgeable about music in European cities of music, to all standing ovation. (It was said as a miracle to organize with 130 high leveled performers.)
However, we realized. Hundreds times of scientific evidences existed behind the success of developing 27 kinds of instruments (guitars). It is impossible to make impressive sounds without these facts.
And, the method will easily break off when the bring-up system (education) to transfer efficiently was not prepared. Furthermore, all will not be possible without transferring and keeping it continuously in high level and related persons in physically and mentally good health.
A part of results of paying effort most efficiently, joyfully for 54 years is today’s plain sound of the students of Niibori Guitar Music School.
I hope many more people do “ensemble” of Niibori to enjoy tasteful long life.

Guidance to "Niibori Guitar Philharmonic Orchestra" Public Performance 2011
N-Orch. public performance in this year is introduced as mentioned in last issue.
For this time, it will be performed at "Yokohama Minato-Mirai Big Hall" after an interval of 7 years on Sept. 4 (Sun.).This hall is shaped basically as shoe box type and it is prominent hall with excellent sound. It is located in “Minato-Mirai 21 district”, sightseeing spot representing Yokohama, and the location with full of charms with enjoying sightseeing, shopping and dining before or after the concert.
N-Orch. attained big success of public performance in Munich and Wien Musikfereinsaal in 50th year since it’s first organized (2007) and in 2012, the 55th year, public performance with big organization again in Europe = Italy is planned.
The halls in Milano and Venice are already determined. Thus, public performance for this time is assumed to be a memorial one as pre 55th year public performance in Italy and Italian (visiting country) pieces of music will be performed. Additional pieces of music giving vigor and courage will be also performed. Of course, the hope for “making worldwide family with guitar orchestra = bringing up peaceful mind” is also included in the concert for this time. Every piece of music is splendid one to draw out charms only by guitar orchestra.
“Die Fledermaus overture” conducted by Dr. Hiroki Niibori, obtained good reputation at public performance in Wien, will be presented. The opening piece “O Sole Mio in baroque style” will be conducted by Mr. Norihiro Uemura. NE (Niibori Guitar Ensemble), conducted by Mr. Kazuyuki Terada, performed all movements from “Four Seasons” composed by A. Vivaldi in June and has been talked much about, will perform “Autumn” from “Four Seasons” and “Concert for Piccolo”, composed by Vivaldi and soloist will be Ms. Yuko Koshibe. And, N-Orch., conducted by Mr. Kazuyuki Terada, will challenge to perform “Fire Bird”, composed by Stravinsky and arranged by Kengo Momose. Electric Guitar Concert “Riverdance” (Whelan ~ arr. by Taguchi), solo by Masahiro Suzuki, is the premiere performance in Japan! Hiromu Taguchi, actively playing as a soloist, will make his debut as a conductor for this piece of music. Electric guitars (as brass group) and percussions will actively play in “Riverdance” and so on. Courage and hope will be gushed out by them. Cembalo Guitar Ensemble, popular ensemble group = DANROK and Ladies’ Quartet (Dreamers the 3rd) will also appear on stage.
This time also, the concert will have full of topics.
